FLOAT COPPER
FLOAT COPPER
Float Copper is the pigment that "floats to the top" of resin, creating a stunning shiny metallic effect. It can also be mixed with clear acrylic medium or isopropyl alcohol to embellish stones in geode art. A unique characteristic of this pigment is the beautiful metallic shine it forms on the surface of the resin, and only a very small amount is needed for mixing since it’s super concentrated and heavy. Just 15 grams should be enough for many large geode projects.
Always remember to cover the floating pigment with another layer of resin for protection. If more than 24 hours have passed and another resin layer is required, the surface should be sanded. However, you should never sand the area where the floating pigment has settled, as it will scratch the shiny surface. Instead, work carefully around it, avoiding any contact with the Float Copper.
